SHEIN and Sinotrans Sign Strategic MoU

SHEIN, a global fashion and lifestyle online retailer, has signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Sinotrans Limited (“Sinotrans”) to deepen cooperation across inter-warehouse logistics, with a focus on new energy vehicles (NEVs), charging infrastructure and technology-enabled energy and fleet management platform.

A key area of the partnership will be the implementation of a live tracking portal for the drivers of SHEIN's fleet of NEVs that are used in its inter-warehouse logistics in China. This portal is tied to five dedicated NEV charging stations that are operated by Sinotrans and will be used to manage energy and vehicle dispatch data to help NEV drivers and fleet operators better plan charging times and routes. SHEIN has been steadily increasing its fleet of NEVs across its operations, growing the number of NEVs from 125 in 2025 to around 220 this year, including a number from Sinotrans. Additionally, Sinotrans is in the process of building an additional two charging stations for SHEIN's exclusive use.

Traditionally, NEV drivers often rely on their own experience and real-time searches to determine when and where to charge their vehicles. SHEIN's platform takes a data-driven approach, using operational information to identify suitable charging windows and match vehicles with available charging points. By coordinating charging requirements with charger availability and vehicle schedules, the platform helps to reduce unnecessary time and mileage spent searching for charging points. More effective charging and route planning can also help fleet operators manage charging costs and vehicle availability.

The combination of the digital platform and charging infrastructure is intended to create a more coordinated approach to EV fleet operations. Connecting information on vehicles, routes, charging requirements and charger availability can enable charging decisions to be incorporated into daily logistics planning and help drivers and fleet operators make more informed operational decisions.

As part of the wider MoU, SHEIN and Sinotrans will also explore NEV battery-swapping services within logistics scenarios, as well as the application of electric heavy-duty trucks on medium- and long-distance routes.
