About SHEIN X

It’s tough for indie fashion designers to get noticed. So we created the SHEIN X program to help showcase talent to millions around the world.

SHEIN X allows designers to do what they do best — create — while we handle the manufacturing, marketing and retail. Plus, they share in the profits and keep ownership of their creations. By bringing together talented creators and SHEIN’s global community, we hope to inspire and empower designers and artists to chase their dreams!

Meet Some of the Talented Designers from Washington D.C.

“I got into fashion after having my two children. I couldn’t afford the fancy pieces anymore. Designing my collection, the goal was creating pieces you can wear to a holiday dinner or date night.”

-Tygerian Burke

Meet Lillian Love Dennis From Los Angeles

“Seeing colors, prints and textures inspires me so sometimes I’ll shop for fabric in Downtown LA. Once I get into a creative flow, I can’t get the ideas in my head on paper fast enough.”

Tell us about yourself, your design journey and SHEIN X experience.

I became interested in fashion at a young age. My mother went to FIDM, so I would sit and watch her sketch designs. In high school, I started designing my friends’ prom dresses and I decided to study at FIDM too. I have been with SHEIN X since 2021 and have seen amazing benefits for my brand. I’ve been able to network and refine my website and social media.

Where do you see your brand in the future and what excites you moving forward?

I see Heavinz Lane as a bold apparel line that grows to provide fashion to women of all sizes. Each piece will be special and unique. I also see my brand expanding to men, children, and home decor in the future! Coming up, I have a new SHEIN X collection in the spring which will be my first straight sized collection. The rest have been plus sized. Super excited about that!

How does the city you live in inspire your designs?

Although I currently live in Vegas, I still get a lot of my inspiration from home. Los Angeles is my inspiration. The skyline, the beaches, even the graffiti gives me great ideas. The edge of Downtown LA really sets it off, and places like Union Station are great landmarks for photoshoots. I love seeing the juxtaposition of a beautiful design against the backdrop of the city.

“Houston is so diverse and has a huge presence of art and creativity. You find new spots of inspiration and it fuels me to create more while falling in love with the city.”

Tell us about yourself, your design journey and SHEIN X experience.

I’m a Latina artist living in Houston, Texas with my daughters. I started posting my art online to different social media channels and was approached in 2021 by SHEIN X to create a capsule collection. I was thrilled at the opportunity! Also, because of the program, my daughter and I launched a girls collection together.

What is your creative process when designing?

The creative process can be tricky. I always put together a mood board of concepts that I want for the collection. Being able to give myself space to be playful and experiment with new concepts as I draw is really important. I love to always sleep on a design too. Giving myself the time to review, tweak and improve.

Do you draw inspiration from any specific parts of your life?

I find huge inspiration from my journey as a mom. I have gone through a lot, including loss, divorce and finding self love for ourselves. Art allows me to express myself and relieve stress in a beautiful way. I find beauty through the pain I have faced and love that art can impact my life in such a positive way.

Meet Danielle Brion from Tampa

“Where I live it’s pretty much summer all year long. I’m inspired by music and what I’m going through in my life in that moment. Each collection has a written story and this helps pull the entire collection together.”

-Danielle Brion

Tell us about yourself, your design journey and SHEIN X experience.

I live in Tampa and when I arrived in 2013, fashion jobs were nonexistent, so I decided to pave my way and start my brand. I’ve been a part of SHEIN X since 2021 and it has given me the confidence that my designs are marketable while helping make money as an independent designer.

Do you draw inspiration from any hobbies or local landmarks?

I just picked up the hobby of having an aquarium and this past weekend, I visited various aquatic stores. The fishes I saw were absolutely breathtaking and have these very unique and exquisite prints. I’m definitely going to incorporate some fresh prints inspired by this.

Where do you see your brand in the future and what excites you moving forward?

Within the next year, I see myself doing my own fashion shows and within 2 years, my goal is to be selling my designs wholesale. Right now, I’m in the process of launching a mini capsule collection inspired by the “Italian Mob wife” from NYC. It’s very bold and the first shoot was amazing!

Meet Lala Beltrán from Miami

“Living in Miami, I start my design process by going to the beach. It is the first sight of inspiration. I was born in a tropical city with sea, river, colors, a very rich wildlife.”

-Lala Beltrán

Q & A with Lala

Where do you live currently and how did you get into your career of design?

I’m based in Miami and got involved in design due to my mom, who is also a designer! At the age of 19, I went to college in my hometown, Barranquilla, Colombia and then after finishing my studies, I started working for local brands in the area. I later moved to Panama where I expanded and grew as a fashion designer.

What is your creative process when designing?

I usually start by going to the beach and imagining the colors that I would like to have in my collection. Next, I take the time to research trends, fabrics, textures and silhouettes. As soon I have all the info, I take my computer and start designing with my headphones in, listening to my favorite music with a coffee or glass of wine.

Tell us about your SHEIN X program experience and what’s coming up ?

I’ve been enrolled with the program since 2022 and developed three collections so far. The major benefit is being able to put my name out there internationally. It’s been a great journey! Coming up, I’m creating 3 principal products for a new collection – sportswear, swimwear and lingerie. It’s going to encourage self love!
